Internships, Eagle Scout Projects etc.

Serve a Village welcomes interns who are interested in helping to improve the health, education, welfare and environment of communities throughout the world.

Likewise, we welcome students looking for Eagle Scout, Young Women in Excellence or other service project ideas to partner with Serve a Village!

You can read about one student's Independent Study experience with Serve a Village here!

Please complete the Internship Application to let us know you're interested!

Some opportunities include:

1.  Fundraising Specialist. There are so many fun ways to do this! Here are just a few ideas:
a) Team up with a local restaurant (we are partnering with Chic-fil-A in VA).  Invite as many people as they can to eat at the restaurant that night. The restaurant provides a certificate for the non-profit to give to potential guests. When the guests make a purchase and show the certificate, a percentage of the sale goes to the non-profit.
b) Create a campaign on Gofundme
c) Hold a gala or a dinner or other event such as a "Touch a Truck" (invite local firemen, ambulances, Tractor owners, mailmen, etc.) to come park in a parking lot one Saturday morning. Charge $5 per family for admission.  The drivers allow the children to sit in the truck and tell them all about its uses...
d) Plan a run,  triathalon, Polar Plunge, or other athletic event to raise funds.
e) Make a great YouTube video telling about what we do and ask for donations.

2. Social Media Specialist. Expand our social media presence to generate greater awareness of our service expeditions, projects, events and fundraisers. Create a campaign, post regularly on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and expand our presence to other social media platforms as well.

3. Website Specialists. Redesign and maintain our website!
3. Organize a book collection for our library.  Collect a dollar with every book to pay for shipping.
4. Organize a medical supplies collection and collect funds to help ship the supply to our clinic in Kenya.
5. Get a group together to sew women's sanitary items (we provide the pattern).
6.  Recruit an volunteer group and help plan an expedition for them to Kenya, South Africa or Uganda (and possibly Guatemala).

7. Organize a Diaper Drive in your community.
All interns will work remotely. Duration and time commitment can be tailored to the need of the intern. As Serve a Village is 100% volunteer (including the Directors!), all internships are unpaid. If desired, we are happy to work with your school to help you secure course credit for the work you do.
